What is BWUSWP?

The Baptist Women's Union of the South West Pacific (usually shortened to BWUSWP and pronounced "Bizz-wup") is one of the seven regions (also called "continental unions") of the Baptist World Alliance Women's Department.

Who runs the BWA Women's Department? 

The Women's Department of the Baptist World Alliance is led by executive director Patsy Davis. Each continental union is headed by a president who also serves as a vice-president of the BWA Women's Dept.

Who belongs to BWUSWP?
You
are part of BWUSWP if you are a Baptist woman ministering in your local church in Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Papua or Fiji.

Why do we exist?
+We aim to support the vision of the Baptist World Alliance among Baptist women of the world, especially in the South West Pacific.

+We aim to promote fellowship and fuller understanding among Baptist women, especially in the South West Pacific.

+We aim to encourage the development of women leaders at all levels of our Baptist world fellowship, and especially in the South West Pacific.

+We aim to share information about the activities and ways of working in women's organisations.

+We aim to promote the worldwide Baptist Women's Day of Prayer.
